  • Developing and initiating a coordinated plan to help expand humanitarian service, achieve membership growth, and develop future leaders within the Multiple District.
  • Collaborating with area leaders and members of district Global Action Teams to share best practices, achievements and meet challenges.

The GMT Multiple District Coordinator is a member of the Multiple District Global Action Team. His/her responsibilities include:

  • Collaboration with the GLT and GST Multiple District coordinators and the Global Action Team Multiple District Chairperson (council chairperson) to further initiatives focused on leadership development, membership growth and expanding humanitarian service.
  • Development and execution of an annual Multiple District membership development plan.
  • Communicating regularly with the GMT district coordinators to ensure that they are aware of available membership programs and resources.
  • Monitoring of each district’s progress towards membership goals. Offer motivation and support to help district reach their goals.
  • Encouragement to GMT district coordinators to include diverse populations to participate in Global Action Team initiatives.
  • Responding quickly to prospective member leads provided by LCI, track recruitment and provide status report of the lead.
  • Completion of requirements and submission of applications to receive Multiple District funding from LCI for membership development activities.
  • Providing retention strategies to districts in collaboration with GLT and GST Multiple District coordinators.
  • Motivation of districts to charter specialty clubs.

The GLT Multiple District coordinator is a member of the Multiple District Global Action Team. His/her responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the GMT and GST Multiple District coordinators and Global Action Team Chairperson (council chairperson) to further initiatives focused on leadership development, membership growth and expanding humanitarian service.
  • Development and execution of an annual Multiple District leadership development plan.
  • Organizing and conduct of training sessions for District Governors Elect and Vice District Governors Elect at the Mid-year conference or Multiple District Convention.
  • Communicating regularly with GLT district coordinators to ensure they are aware of leadership development programs and resources available.
  • Providing ongoing motivation to and monitoring progress of GLT District Coordinators, Zone Chairpersons and club leadership to achieve leadership development goals.
  • Encouragement to GLT District Coordinators to include diverse populations to participate in Global Action Team initiatives.
  • Promotion of leadership development opportunities to encourage participation at all levels of the association. USA/CANADA FORUMS; Emerging Lions Leadership Institute (ELLI); Advanced Lions Leadership Insittute (ALLI); Regional Lions Leadership Institute (RLLI); Faculty Development Institute (FDI); Lions Certified Instructor Programme (LCIP)
  • Organization and facilitation of instructor-led and web-based training in coordination with LCI..

The GST Multiple District coordinator is a member of the Multiple District Global Action Team. His/her responsibilities include:

  • Development and execution of an annual Multiple District action plan and monitor progress toward goals. Support districts and offers motivation to reach district goals.
  • Collaboration with GMT and GLT Multiple District coordinators and the Global Action Team Multiple District Chairperson (council chairperson) to further initiatives focused on leadership development, membership growth, and expanding humanitarian service.
  • Support of local community service projects that create a sense of belonging and pride to the Lions and Leos in the Multiple District.
  • Collaboration with GMT and GLT to provide retention strategies to districts.
  • Communication regularly with GST district coordinators to inform them of LCI and LCIF programs, partnerships and grants.
  • Serving as a resource and content expert for regional best practices in service project implementation for LCI initiatives.
  • Encouragement to GST district coordinators to promote service projects that attract multiple generational participants, as well as the integration and leadership development of Leos.
  • Increase of LCIF coordinator collaboration at the Multiple District and district level to maximize LCIF resources and fundraising.
  • Coordination with the LCIF Multiple District coordinator, monitor LCIF Grants given to the Multiple District.

The LCIF Multiple District Coordinator is appointed by the Council chairperson to serve for a three-year term. This position serves as an ambassador for Lions Clubs International Foundation and reports directly to LCIF Area Leader. His/her responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with and facilitate training for Lions appointed by the District Governors in each district to serve a three-year term as the LCIF district coordinators.
  • Being familiar with LCIF initiatives and educate Lions within the Multiple District on the various grants and projects supported by LCIF. Assist district governors with grant applications to LCIF, as needed.
  • Promotion of foundation initiatives in Multiple District publications, during district and Multiple District events and to the public at large.
  • Ensuring that LCIF-funded projects within the Multiple District receive proper promotion and follow grant-criteria guidelines.
  • Encouraging all Lions within the Multiple District to contribute to LCIF and promote recognition programs as incentives to donate to LCIF.
  • Identification of potential major gift donors, local foundations, corporations, and businesses with the potential to support LCIF and, and when appropriate, be involved in the gift-request process.
  • Assisting with the submission of LCIF funds, MJF applications, and other donation information when necessary.
  • Report progress quarterly to the area LCIF Trustee.

CONSITUTION AND BY LAWS

Objective

To ensure that the Multiple District’s constitutional provisions are upheld and adhered to, and guide the Council in constitutional interpretations, to recommend and advise the council concerning recommended constitutional changes.

Duties

  • Review all matters of a constitutional nature referred to it and make recommendations thereon, when deemed proper, to the Council.
  • Prepare the form of constitutional amendments proposed by the Council.
  • Receive, analyze and redraft all motions proposing changes to the Constitution and By-Laws Committee of the Multiple District and report its recommendations to the Multiple District Convention.
  • On constitutional questions requiring interpretation rather than Council action: Confer, if necessary, by letter or other approved manner of communication until a majority opinion of the committee is secured.
  • Instruct the Council on procedure.
  • Approve Policy Manual changes proposed by other committees of the Council.

Reporting – The committee gives an official report at each council meeting concerning the aforementioned matters.

RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE

Objective/Duties - To receive, analyze and redraft with the approval of the Club, Sub-District or the Council submitting the motion, all proposed motions designed to come before the Convention other than amendments to the Multiple District Constitution & By-Laws provided all such motions be presented to the committee in writing before presentation to the Convention.

Objective/Duties

To advise the Council on matters of finance, to review and approve for payment at a Council Meeting all invoices and accounts for payment, including all invoices subject to any Multiple District Rules of Audit and approve the allocation to the appropriate Multiple District Account, to recommend, review and report to the Council on a policy regarding investments, to carry out such other duties as requested by the Council from time to time.

Reporting

The committee shall report at each Council Meeting.

Composition

The committee shall consist of not more than six (6) persons, one of whom shall be the Council Secretary/Treasurer and the remaining members shall be appointed by the Council.

The ICT and Public Relations Chairperson appointed by the Council Chairperson shall oversee the Multiple District’s Communications, Public Relations, Marketing and Social Media Programme. The committee will update and maintain the Multiple District e-clubhouse website with important information from both Sub-districts – including district and club activities. The committee will maintain the Multiple District facebook page. The committee will also organise online facilities for hosting multiple district meetings The Committee is also encouraged to develop as appropriate various communication, public relations and social media platforms to achieve the above objectives such as an Multiple District Email address, Multiple District Facebook page, Multiple District e-club house website, whatsapp groups, Instragram and Twitter accounts .

New Voices are a diverse group of individuals who, selected annually by their District Governor for their dynamic and innovative contributions in one of the four fields: Service, Membership, Leadership and Marketing. The MD Team will support the promotion of the effort at the District level from which nominees will be selected in the various fields identified previously. New Voice nominees will be recognized by the MD throughout the year showcasing their talents and contributions. The team will also identify from the pool of nominees at the District level the MD nominees in each area.

The Credentials Committee of the Multiple District convention shall consist of the Council Chairperson; current district governors, first and second vice district governors and cabinet-secretary treasurers. The chairperson of this committee shall be the council chairperson. Each such Credentials Committee shall have the powers and perform the duties set forth in ROBERT’S RULES OF ORDER, NEWLY REVISED.

Objective/Duties

To certify the delegates and alternates in accordance with the Multiple District Constitution & By-Laws, to refuse to certify delegates or alternates from Clubs not in good standing or more delegates or alternates from any Club than allowed under the provisions of the International Constitution & By Laws.

Reporting

The committee shall report, when called upon to do so, at the Multiple District Convention, on the number of delegates and/or alternates certified both individually and collectively by Sub-Districts.

  • Ensures proper seating designation in keeping with the association’s official protocol and that spoken introductions are based on the same.
  • Ensures the proper placing of name cards and seating for the head table in keeping the association’s official protocol.
  • Receiving Special invited guests and guide them to their respected seats
  • Collaborates with the MD Conference/Convention Chairperson to:
  • a) Ensure that dress codes for all activities are established and communicated to all participants.
  • b) Arrange for proper airport (or other arrival) greetings; arrange suitable transportation to hotel or other lodging, inspect hotel room in advance to insure its suitability, and provide appropriate amenities (flowers, fruit, etc).
  • c) Arrange for the proper escort of visitors to each function on the schedule.
  • d) Arrange courtesy calls on local government leaders (or regional and/or national leaders if the location suggests this as a possibility).
  • e) Coordinate public relations media exposure such as television, radio and print media, as necessary.

Nominations Committee

Objective/Duties

To receive and examine all nominations for any position on the International Board of Directors, to ensure that the nominees are qualified under the Constitution & By-Laws of the International Association.

Reporting

The committee shall report the names of the qualified candidates to the Multiple District Convention.

Elections Committee

Objective/Duties

To supervise elections at the Multiple District Convention including

  • The issuing of ballot papers, to ensure that, subject to the Multiple District Constitution & By -Laws,
  • Maintaining the secrecy of the ballot, by destroying ballot papers when ordered to do so by the Multiple District Convention Chairperson.
  • The committee chairperson being the returning officer and the members as scrutineers.
  • The reporting of the results of the elections to the Multiple District Convention.

Objective

To provide direction, establish norms, recommend and implement authorized procedures to ensure proper organization and operation of all phases of the Multiple District Convention, as contained in the MD60 Convention Manual.

Reporting

At the time of each Council Meeting, the Convention organizing committee shall submit a status report on the next convention. Recommendations may also be submitted affecting Council policy concerning the convention. Relevant information concerning other future convention arrangements may also be submitted, as determined by the committee.

Objective / Duties

The Council Secretary Treasurer chairs the International Convention Committee and is responsible for all aspects of the program of the upcoming International Convention :

  • The timely and thorough dissemination of information regarding the upcoming Convention.
  • The promotion and encouragement of attendance
  • The monitoring of registration – obtaining updates from LCI on registration of participants
  • Registration of Delegation to participate in the International Parade and uplifting relevant documentation from the LCI Convention office for parade.
  • With other committee members, be responsible for arrangements for parade uniforms and banners for the parade. PR.
  • In collaboration with the Chairperson for District 63, be responsible for securing the venue and establishing format and costs for the hosting of the joint reception.
  • Posting the daily schedule of events.

Reporting: The Committee Chairperson

  • Reports to the Meeting of the Council and at the MD Convention all information/ arrangements made in respect of Delegation Hotel; joint reception with District 63; and any other activities at the International Convention.
  • Submits a detailed report to the new Council of Governors on the activities of the concluded International Convention.

The Multiple District Research and Archives Chairperson appointed by the Council Chairperson shall maintain a history of the Multiple District from its beginnings to the present.

Ensure safekeeping of Multiple District documents of historical value.
Update annually the history of the Multiple District, records of awards (presidential, etc) from information provided by Council Minutes and other sources as required.
