PRESS RELEASE

A Big Lions Roar For The Paramaribo Central Lions Club

January 28th, 2021 -Kingston: Jamaica- Lions Clubs International Board of Directors Service Activities Committee has awarded the Paramaribo Central Lions Club the 2019-2020 Kindness Matters Service Award.

The Paramaribo Central Lions Club was nominated for the award by the Multiple District GST Coordinator Lion Blossom Anglin Brown.
As part of their winning package the Paramaribo Central Lions Club will receive:

  • Kindness Matters Service Award Member Medal for each club member
  • Kindness Matters Service Club Award
  • Letter of Acknowledgement

This prestigious award is given annually to Lions/Leo Clubs for performing an outstanding service project in one of our global cause areas. Nominated at the Club level, the Kindness Matters Service Award is a challenge for Lions and Leos to develop exceptionally innovative and creative service projects with the aim of leaving a positive impact on their communities.

In explaining the criteria for the award, MD60 GST Coordinator, Lion Blossom Anglin Brown MJF said, “Projects must benefit one or five global causes (diabetes, the environment, vision, childhood cancer or hunger); demonstrate innovation; achieve impact of scale and long-term sustainability; develop local partnerships and use local Lions/Leo or Lions Clubs International resources.”

In addition, Clubs must have an active status, completed a service project within a global cause area in the previous fiscal year and have reported it in MyLion® or their official regional reporting system.

Council Chairperson Lion Denise Forrest PMJF in congratulating the Paramaribo Central Lions Club says that “the club’s recognition has certainly lifted the spirits of Lions/Leos across the Multiple District especially during these challenging times. It’s unfortunate that were still unable to congregate face to face as we’ve been known to do to celebrate this significant milestone. Well done Lions”.
